How data analysis is pushing the limits of performance
Every Marlowe Vale fixture is filmed from two angles and coded before midnight: every centre pass, every turnover, every shot logged with its location, defender distance and quarter. By Tuesday morning, each squad gets a four-page report and a five-minute video cut of the moments that decided their game.
What the numbers changed
The headline finding surprised even the coaches. Teams were losing most ball in the three passes after a turnover — the frantic phase, not the set play. Training was rebuilt around it: Tuesday sessions now open with “chaos drills” that recreate broken play until composure becomes habit. Turnover-to-goal rates are up across the league.
Shooting maps told a second story. Mid-range attempts under pressure were sinking seasons; the same players score freely one step closer. Shot selection coaching, not extra shooting practice, lifted accuracy by double digits in two squads.
The human side of the data
Analysts sit with players, never above them. Reports lead with strengths, clips are short, and every number comes with a training-ground answer. Data earns trust one Tuesday at a time — and the table shows it.
